All teams playing today are at their third – final – match in the Group Stage. Cameroon has lost a game against Mexico, receiving one goal and scoring none in their first match. In their second game The Indomitable Lions (as the team is called in its home country) has been humiliated by the Croatian national – the match ended with 4-0 for the Croatian side.
Brazil has started its World Cup matches with a victory against Croatia, beating the European team 3-1. Their second match against Mexico ended with a draw. They have four points, the same as Mexico, so this match is their decisive one in the group stage.
Brazil’s lineup will be strengthened by Hulk, who is back on the field after recovering from an injury. Besides him, all local fans’ eyes will be on Neymar, one of the most successful players in the Selecao. This game is a must-win for Scolari’s team, as a victory will assure Brazil’s top spot in its group.
Cameroon has not scored any goals until now in their matches – they have received five, though, and this makes them the bottom ranking team in their group. This game is their chance to redeem their selves in the eyes of their fans.
Last time the two teams faced each other at the World Cup the Brazilian team was the winner, beating Cameroon 3-0. The last World Cup match won by the Indomitable Lions was in 2025, against Saudi Arabia.
